Anyone hear anything about a proposed tax on 2 cycle o/b motors in Oregon

Heard this am on a radio talk show that Or has some type of bill floating around to tax users of 2 cycle boat motors. Anybody know the details and status. When it is proposed to go into effect? Also, what will they do for out of staters if passed?

There's a survey being conducted by the Oregon State Marine Board. I got one a few weeks back. Haven't heard of a tax being levied on us 2 stroke users, but they're looking for "incentives" to get us to switch to 4 strokes. Perhaps someone out there knows more about this than I do.....Anyone??

You would think the new Federal Reg.s on 2- strokes would naturally phase them out through discontinued production and start meeting new emission standards, beginning in 2006.

Why do they always want to tax the common folk? Seems like you are being penalized for recreating.

Remember the old Federal A, B, C stickers. A tax just for tax sake!

More than likely within the next 15 years the feds will outright ban all carbureted 2-cycle boat motors.
