Default Artichokes!!!

We have, thanks to my parents, a lot of artichokes to eat this year. They get a liitle smaller as the season wanes but still are good eats!

Throw a whole head of garlic in the pot when you are steaming them, and then squeeze the garlic cloves into mayo with a little lemon juice.

Bill and I, should we ever actually have a wedding ceremony, will have artichokes there so we can do our traditional splitting of the heart.

Then, we kiss and toast with the half heart. I love that! We've been doing it since we got together. Both of our Mother's taught us well.

We cook the choke trimmed a bit, with pickling spice and garlic and salt.

Then, we dip in mayo or melted butter, or hollandaise.

Sometimes, just salt. Who cares?

Man, the ones at the store right now are MEATY! They are a meal, by itself!
