Sandy River Report
Okay, I took a chance getting down that river cause it is reel low now. The only problem I had was at the Troutdale Bridge. There was a sharp turn there and shallow with lots of rocks. I managed to catch a white fish that I threw back and also a Walleye. Yes a Walleye. I have never caught one before and when I saw it I didn't know what one was. It was only about 24" long weighed maybe a good 5-6 lbs. I threw it back also. Was that a mistake? Are they good eatng? When I got home I checked the regs and it said nothing about catching them in the Sandy River so it falls in the General categeory. It would have been legal to take. I just never heard of Walleye in that part of the river. Well, It was still a good day of fishing being out in the sun and on the river. But I think I need a new river to drift. That one is too low now and I still have the fihing itch. Is the Clackamas still in good fishing and Drifting condition? Is there anybody that knows that river that needs a trip down? Let me know,
