Default Depoe Wednesday the 15th

Headed out of Depoe after a lake test in the morning to make sure no issues with the valve job we had done. Boat ran strong.

12 miles of fog gave way to clear skies and warm weather with a flat ocean. Headed to north of Bannana and South of 61, about 55 over 32.

Hit a line at the 27 mark that I bypassed and should have stopped and fished. Trust you gut and expiereince and fish what you know (leason learned).

Nada for an hour, headed south, nada for an hour. Then I heard a call out and I apologize for not getting the names of the vessels that they were getting fish inside at the original break I had passed by.

By the time we got there the morning bite was off. Scratch fishing for a dozen tuna on rootbeer and zuchini clones, and wood cedar plugs.
Ended the day at 54 over 27.

We were just getting enough fish to not stop and switch the ger over for swim baits.

Hoping forecast holds for Sat. and some Halibut is in my future.
Did see:
Jumpers
white whales
dolphins
blue sharks
sun fish

I think it is time to switch over to casting to the jumpers.

That was me that gave you the numbers sorry that we did not call out sooner. We were kinda busy. If the ones you got were like ours !8/22lbs, you'll be busy for a day or two. Glad we could help.

Saw you guys finishing up at the cleaning station. We tried swimbaits right off the bat next to the temp break and color change and did not get a thing while fatdad was getting a bunch on clones and cedar plugs. It was fatdad that was giving out numbers for where we were. We switched over to clones and cedar plugs and started picking up a few. Cedars plugs had most of the action untill the sun came out. Then we saw some jumpers and were getting fish on trolled swimbaits. So we switched everything over to swimbaits and had steady action.

we were seeing enough jumpers so we picked up and ran to them and casted for them. They never stayed up long enough for us to get immediate hookups so we stayed and free spooled/jigged down deep and jig it back up and caught a bunch that way. Purple back with blue stripe and clear/flake belly was the hot bait. One guy backlashed his reel and hooked up while he was picking it out and just reeled in on top of the backlash and landed it. Funny stuff. Had lots of fun and a total new crew that did well. Will be out on saturday too.

Yay! Glad you got her fixed Shawn.

That Area has been Hot for a month now, no real structure to speak of there, I guess It has been a Temp, & Color break thing mostly.

Thanks for the report Guy's.

Thank you FatDAD for calling out. 2 choices, run North or go back to the line. Dont think we have met, however I do thank you for the info and sharing.

Ken will be out Saturday for Halibut weather permitting.
