Default Gizmo falls apart

I was chatting with Gizmo today and he was telling me about his rough day fishing yesterday.

I wont go into all the details, but it all started going wrong when he saw a beautiful blonde woman in short shorts with a steelhead and he hadnt caught anything.

Not long after seeing the blonde, he got a leak in his hose and his big motor dies. He couldnt get it up and running again. He tries to swith over to his kicker and he ends up bottoming out and tearing up his prop. Then he goes to his battery back up system (42 pounds thrust he says ) and he folds the entire lower unit under his boat when he catches the bottom on a shallow section of water.

With his 2 small motors down and out, he finally got his leaking hose problem fixed and managed to get home.

I only mentioned the highlights here. I cannot believe he blamed this all on seeing a beautiful woman.

Maybe he will tell the rest of the story I had to promise to not tell anybody, so I wont tell the story and just wish him well as he performs repairs today.

On behalf of my friend Roy, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for his recent behavior and hallucinatory post. He has been acting strange since he was denied a space on the bb for tips to catch salmon for remedial salmon fishers. He got bummed out that a warm water fish bb beat it out.

I just spoke to his wife and she told me that last night when he came home from work he told her that a friend of his told him that there was a way to eat shad. After dinner Roy went out to his garage like he usually does to putter around. Before going to bed she went to the garage to see where Roy was as it was strangely quiet. When she opened the door to the garage she was nearly overcome by a rotting odor. She saw Roy in the corner of the garage in the fetal position. Unable to reach him, the paramedics were called. They, however, could not rescue Roy due to the overwhelming stench in the garage. They called the fire department and after an hour or so of venting the garage with huge fans they were able to pull Roy to safety and administer first aid. He was on oxygen for some time until he finally came to. Any brain damage was thought to be temporary they told his wife.

The best the investigators could figure was that Roy unplugged his freezer full of shad several weeks ago to save money on electricity and to maximize the shad's crab attracting qualities.

Everything would have been fine concluded the investigator due to the seal on the freezer, however, when the paramedics unfolded Roy from the fetal position they found Roy had attempted to inhale the "smoke" from one of a half dozen or so shad he rolled in newspaper and tried to smoke.

So bear with him as he works his way back to "normal" and tries to clear his brain.

For the record, I have no idea what Roy is talking about in his post. Yes, I went fishing. Yes, the gas line to my motor initially was blocked but that lasted for just several pumps. Yes, I dinged the prop on the new Honda 15 I just bought, and yes, my electric banged the bottom. But what would you expect when you go fishing when the river is running at 1700cfs.

Rt banged his trolling motor a few times when we fished 2 weeks ago and the river was at 1900.

Just before leaving at dark, I did see a chrome bright s/h caught by a young lady who said it was her first fish.

Rt, glad to see you are back. Lets go ff with Stew.

Giz,

Thanks for clearing that up. That would explain the loss of depth perception he had as we crossed the bar at Tillamook last Sunday morning. Roy says, "Nah, them there rollers aint that big, give her some gas and lets go! Hey looky there, aint those flashing lights purdy?" ROLLING ON THE FLOOR it hurts so bad! If my "guess" cartoon above of what Bait THOUGHT he was talking about offends anyone, let me know and will remove her and put her back on the "River?"

Too much Tillamook Cow and Shad I read about here now? Dang that Columbia bar, we're going fishin' too? Did the CG say "bye bye now?"

Gizmo could reach in any one of the 12 duffle bags of stuff he takes on a trip and fix anything that might go bad.
I once saw him pull an 18 drawer Snap-on roll-away tool box out of one!

And I thought you promised not to tell about the wt in the bags.

So what are you saying Bill. If it's a driftboat trip, you have to drag him behind the boat in his own supply ship?

******,

Sort of like that. I must have made the mistake of telling him 22' boat. That was a license to clean out his garage and bring it with him. I think 4 of those bags had outboard motors in them and some were stuff his wife said he had to get rid of or she would not let him fishing today.

Gizmo can talk all the smack he wants because I have the photos to prove my talk. I have a boat rule that anybody that cannot catch a shad in 2 hours must sit in the front of the front (we call it the penalty box). Gizmo had been warming the bench quit a while this day in the penalty box. Finally I handed the pole off to him so he could get out. I smapped this photo just before he was allowed to come into the back of the boat.

BTW - Stew currently holds the record for penalty box time.

The shad we got into at the end of the run where the large females. I used my fly rod until I got tired of casting for them. That day Roy and I boated 103. Many large females. The numbers do not include those lost at the net or got off before they got to the net.

As far as how they taste, you need to ask Roy. He took most of the ones we got. Said he wanted them for crab bait.

As to the reason I am in the penalty box
