70 Degree Water
Latest free image from the Terrafin shows some pretty warm water. Too bad its a little far out. But wow, I'll bet there could be a few exotics swimmin around in there.

Re: 70 Degree Water
I saw that today also. I'm wondering if this shot of S/SW/W wind we have coming in over the next few days might nudge that water a bit toward the 125 line.

Re: 70 Degree Water
Yeah, and look how Thursday's wind machine is supposed to bring it right over to us. Look to your drag washers, boys, the season is about to go into overdrive!

Re: 70 Degree Water
I've been trying to analyze all day that picture but if you look at the chlorophyl charts, it's not real blue where the 70 deg water is. The little finger of spotty blue is just inside that. It's a little blue, just not real clear. I wonder if there could be yellow fin in that, they can tolerate water to 68 deg I think.

Re: 70 Degree Water
Both yellowfin and bluefin can be found in 68 degree water, at least they can down south. I've caught yellowfin in water as cool as 65.5.

Re: 70 Degree Water
We were in 68 degree water yesterday out of Garibaldi near Halibut hill. It was green water though. However, I did see a few very large fish completely launch themselves out of the water. I could not really figure out what they were. They looked tuna like but jumped more like a salmon trying to get way. Almost like a breaching whale. One was so big it had to of been in the 70lb range.

Re: 70 Degree Water
No more, please God, no more...well, okay, maybe one more. Oh, what the heck, maybe a bunch more! Fishtender, gimme a round of tight lines for all of my friends. On second thought, make it a double! Cheers! Down the hatch!
