Default What's your most humerous doughy experience !

Hey, I was just reading some posts and was thinking about some funny, humerous times with doughy's in my db.

I recall one day I was fishing the Wilson and the doughy I was with (cannot reveal his name to protect his idenity) and he wanted to row. Well I was a little hesistant at first but then came to a stretch of water I knew was easy so I let him have the oars. We went along ok for about 100 yards then had a right turn, I was instructing him how to take the corner and looked ahead. As soon as I looked ahead I heard a thump in the back and turned around and all I could see was 2 feet sticking straight up in the air . I jumped, LMAO and grabbed the oars to get around the corner while he was picking himself up out of the stern area. He apparently hit something with his oar and it knocked him backwards on his back. Man that was a sight and we still laugh about that today

Share you doughy moment !

Hey FishinMission, check this out for a laugh and a rotten thing to do to your fishin buddy.
Several years ago i used to fish for sturgeon on the columbia. A friend of mine kept bugging me to take him along. I finally said ok and told him to make sure he brought plenty of lead. I took along two 5lb downrigger weights just for this trip. After we anchored he asked me what to do so i rigged his line with everything except the weight. I had the two weights laying side by side in the boat and i told him to tie one of them on as the current was really swift, There he stood with the weight literally bending his pole to the deck. I told him to cast it out but he said he was just going to let it dribble out which he did in 90 feet of water. I then anounced that the current really was not that bad and promptly tied on 10 oz's of lead. He had to pull that weight back up hand over hand. We still laugh about it but he does not think it is funny. I even told this story on him at his retirement.I had a friend in the boat who had tears running down his face from laughing. By the way he still goes fishin with me but i think i have lost his trust. Dont know why.

My girlfriend and I went out on a charter out of Newport last summer for some bottom fishing. It was her first trip like this, and we were both excited about the adventure ahead of us. It was a typical day on the Oregon coast, some fog, some wind, and temperatures on the water probably around 50 to 55 degrees. There were six of us on board and it didn't take long before we were all catching a few fish and having fun. My girlfriend, however, was begining to get very cold and took a few breaks from fishing to warm her hands around cup of hot coffee. About this time we got into a school of sea bass that were all over the surface. Instead of just dropping the jig straight to the bottom, a small cast into the school was resulting in more hookups. Well, you may be able to imagine what the outcome was when my cold, stiff handed girlfriend with a minimum of fishing experience, wanting to enjoy the hot bite, tried this maneuver. Yep, not only was the jig cast out, the entire rod and reel was as well. Stunned at what I had just witnessed, I was unable to move for a few seconds. I made a few casts in the general area in a futile attempt to snag the rod, but to no avail. Mostly, I was fearing for what the captain would do when he found out. Surprisingly, instead of blowing his top, he was doubled over in laughter. He claimed he had never witnessed the like. I was extremely grateful for this reaction, as my girlfriend was nearly in tears as it was, and any harsh words would have opened the flood gates. Needless to say, the captain received a nice tip at the end of the trip.
