Where Am I?

Or rather, where was I? I admit that this is not a well known place but I thought I give it a try anyway.

Hints:

This is a "little" part of a Oregon river.
The head waters are about 24 miles beyond this impoundment.

I'm probably wrong though. I've only been through there twice over the years but think I remember seeing something kinda like that.

Nope.

Built in 1937/38 this central Oregon saw mill is just 200 feet off of Highway 97.

Yep. I had the pleasure of cleaning the two hog fuel boiler located in the beautiful brick building you see in the picture. It was a real treat to have such a great setting to work.

Can't wait to see the pics. I haven't been over there for a while. All of the houses in Gilchrist were painted brown at one time. It was a pretty odd looking town.
