Default Oversized

Yep, that's what I am.....
Fished out of the Fishery yesterday evening. Had a couple of buds in from Boise that were just dieing to go, so I filled the cooler full of Buds and ran up there for the evening. Only hooked one, but never got it to the boat. I only saw one other boat fighting a monster. Shad didn't seam to do the trick for us, although it has been frozen for a couple of weeks. Smelt with just a touch of Marie's nailed everything. I just wish I had brought more smelt with me. These guys were catching shakers faster than I could release them and re-bait the hooks. No keepers, but what a lot of fun for a couple of out-of-towners.
If anyone snags a NorthRiver rod off the bottom of the river at the upper end of Horsetail on the WA side I'd love to have it back. I'd even tell you what kind of reel was on it and pitch in a fishing trip.

Anybody know anything about sturgeon fishing on the Columbia around the mouth of the John Day? Heading up there this weekend for a little fun in the sun.

Ther can be some pretty good sturgeon fishing right below the John Day Dam at times. Roll Mop and Sand Shrimp.

Oversized by 1 inch. What a fish!!!
Fished across from Caterpillar Island and
Frenchman's Bar last night on the incoming tide. Smelt was the ticket. So many bites and so many fish. We were the only boat there
The wind made 2-3 ft swells, but the fishin
was great. And what a sunset.
