Dunno if anyone will ever know (except the skipper) whether the blower was running, but I had the same thought. Regardless of whether that was the case in this situation, always always always run that blower - and run it more than just a few seconds. I've heard of more than a few "accidents" resulting from lack or improper use of blowers.
