Default Fishing Trip for GPS lessons

I have an Eagle GPS that I bought when I purchased my boat 4 years ago. It is all hooked up and mounted but I have yet to learn how to use it.
If one of you GPS gurus out there would be willing to spend a day out on the water with me showing me how to use the thing, I'll supply all the bait, gear, gas etc. 21' Alumaweld Formula V inboard jet. Very big river worthy boat. I would love to get it out on Big Blue on a nice day just been too intimidated to try.

For $25 bucks you can go thru a class at Fishermans Marine.

But if you want guiding across the bar, ask Waterdog, I know how to do it, just point the boat West and put it in gear.

OK you two, that's enough from the peanut gallery.

I would take the class at Fishermans but I always learn better when it is hands on. I have the video for the one on my boat and the hand held I bought for hunting and I just get confused watching them.

hehe yeah it's my turn to take someone elses boat across the bar at O'dark thirty! I'm 2 for 2 so far!

Seriously, after fishing out there with bait and watching him use his GPS, I'm going to learn how to use my. It's not that hard just takes practice.

I used to have that same GPS, Tanner. I never did learn how to use it right and finally sold it. Now I've got a Lowrance Mapping unit which is real nice - I still don't know how to use it real well, but at least it shows all the buoys in the river, the land masses and I just follow that line that it traces on the screen to get back in (Same thing I used to do with my Eagle). I have the video for my Lowrance and I agree - it doesn't help like hands on instruction would.
