Warmwater board?
Previously I had read there would be a warmwater board going up shortly, but I still can't find one? Just wondering if I am "special" and missing it.. or if there will be one soon.
Thanks
Jeff

Re: Warmwater board?
Yeah, What he said. I'd like to see a warmwater fishing board too. Theres alot more fish to catch around here than salmon steelhead and sturgeon.

Yes, there is more to catch other than Steelhead, Salmon, and Sturgeon. There is Shad- A man has got to have bait!!!

Re: Warmwater board?
This last weekend I hooked and landed a five and a six pound bass on a top water buzz bait at a Willamette Valley reservoir. I am about as hardcore Salmon, Steelhead and Sturgeon fisherman as you can find, but I guarantee you that the rush of watching a big largemouth come up and smash a top water bait that is being ripped across the surface at a high velocity is very hard to match.
Also caught 5 crappie Sunday afternoon. The smallest was 12" and the largest was 15".
By the way, my bass boat of choice. 21' Alumaweld Formula V inboard jet.
You guy's that are too good to fish for spiney ray ought to try it sometime. It can be more challenging than steelhead or chinook fishing.

Re: Warmwater board?
I spend a good majority of my free time(which has significantly decreased because the college days are over, now it's the married days with a child on the way) fishing. I enjoy salmon, steelhead and trout fishing.. But I also love warmwater fishing. Basically I think I just love fishing in general. I went out to a "local pond" this week and managed to land a 4 pounder on rapalla with some berkley bass scent(does this stuff really work?), and I missed another on a topwater. Last saturday some friends and I took the boat out to Lacamas lake but had no action. We were fishing the shoreline on the northwest side of the lake where all the nice houses are. We threw buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, floating frogs, 4 inch lizards, tube baits, and 6 inch worms at them with no luck. If anyone has any advice on fishing this lake please share Hopefully this weekend I'll get some steelhead fishing in.

Re: Warmwater board?
I took the whole fam damily over to Billy Chinook last weekend for some tubbing and boarding. Well the kids got tired and hungry so I anchered and proceeded to HAMMER the smallies! We are talking a fish a minute in some cases. They were small smallies but still fish. the kids really got into the smallies too. Oh yeah, my bass, sturgeon, salmon, steelhead, shad, trout, bottom fish, ski, knee-board, and tube boat is a 19' inboard jet too.

Re: Warmwater board?
Newt, ya just click the little pencil&paper icon - wiseguy.
Jeff - it's OK, when the kid arrives you have an excuse to fish ... and you can use 2 rods. Well you only have time to use one. Well you spend most of your time untangling line. Well it's all good.
About the warmwater board - I sorta like it all mixed together ... I mean what's next, we will have a fly fishing board, OK one for dries and one for nymphs, a cutthroat board, outboard board, inboard board ...
Didn't mean to bore you - - is it Friday ??

Re: Warmwater board?
See, The redneck knows. Yall, you ever catch them on a bucktail buzzbait down south. What a rush. It's almost dark out all you can really see is the wake of your lure on the surface and you can hear the blade chugging along. All of a sudden aaawwwooooooosssssshhhhh.
Excuse me, I have to go take a cold shower now.

Re: Warmwater board?
Phish - Well one benefit to having a warmwater board is that our posts will stay up for a decent amount of time. I've made warmwater posts before and usually there swept off the edge of the world in a matter of hours. Hopefully shortly I'll have a nice sled bassboat.. Just got a new job. I could afford the boat before but not the truck. Now I can get the truck to!!

Re: Warmwater board?
Tanner - nice post. Most posts I read from bass fisherman mention something about how they are the hardest fighting fish around. I've never cought a bass that wasn't in the boat within 15 seconds after it was hooked. I agree that it's quite a kick watching them take a topwater plug - I can't see how any true fisherman wouldn't get a rush out of catching any type of fish. I was in Springfield, Mo. last month for 5 days and dropped about $1000 at Bass Pro (Picture Fishermans x 10) Those guys spend as much time and money on bass boats and bass fishing as we do on Jet Sleds and "good eating fish" fishing. That's the easiest way to get even with a bass fisherman - just look at him and say "You don't eat those do you?" (I know some bass taste o.k. - but don't dare compare them to salmon or sturgeon

Re: Warmwater board?
I spent a couple of days on the coast last weekend and the arcade at Seaside has a great bass fishing game (as an aside - all of the new games cost a whole *******' dollar. What's up with that? Inflation? ).
Anyways, the game had a fake rod and reel attached to it with a string coming out the tip that is controlled by an internal motor under the monitor. So you pick where you want to cast, and then reel back in (plugs only). When you get a strike I swear it felt like the real thing. I couldn't stop myself from setting the hook like a muscle builder (I just about broke the string on each hookset ). My wife tried to melt into the crowd as I was whooping and hollering fighting those digital fish. It was the most realistic fishing game I've every played.
I know, very off topic. But entertaining!

Re: Warmwater board?
Her name can go below mine on the list Tanner Geez, I think by the time it comes our turn to dip into the estate, we'll be fighting over the canned goods.
Dude, I am a topwater wizard. The biggest bass I hooked was on a buzzbait in NO light conditions. You couldn't even see the wake, but you could hear the explosion. All you could do was pray....wind in....praying...wind in.....FISH ON!!!!! YAAAAAAAANK!

Re: Warmwater board?
ya know, if we are going to waste space on a new section then I think we should have voted. Just because someone thinks they need a special bb jen goes and puts one up. Been talking to Roy (Eggs) and he is really put out.
He feels that there should be a remidial bb for people who can't catch a salmon after 42 days.
This way he can, I mean they can ask questions, such as, after 42 days of not catching a salmon, should I put a hook or something on the end of the string.
Jen, need to take Roy's suggestion seriously, otherwise he might do something drastic, like opening his freezer on a hot day and sitting in front of the rotting carcasses getting high fron the fumes.
giz..

Re: Warmwater board?
What gives Giz, the wife is out of town for 1 day and you start getting smart with me. I will tell her what you said when she gets back, and then it is across her knee for a spanking for ya.
Marty, dont encourage Giz, he will just keep it up. Giz isnt that funny, just fun to fish with. (sort of a laugh at, not with, kind of guy)
