Snake river elk
I drew the snake river unit for elk I am going scouting this week. I want to get a feel for the land anyone willing to help me with a place to start. pm's are welcome. thanks

Check out the headwaters of pumpkin creek and horse creek. Crazyman creek holds elk as well.

you should check out the ON FOOT FILMS Two weeks in purgatory video, its from the snake river, they also have Return to purgatory out, some great scenic shots and good elk on film!

No hijack here - Joe & Jayson backpack an elk out 7-10mi in the Snake? I remember the days...

You need to go to the forestry dept .they have good maps ,or buy the national georaphic disc set and it has every thing +++++

Go to the forest service hq just before you get to Enterprise. Get the WWNF map and and ask about road and fire closures. There are a few road closures in that unit.
Also, call Vic Coggins ODFW and ask him. vic has always done right by me.

During second season, the snow/weather may dictate where you can't hunt. If you talk to Vic, ask him what the trend has been for the last 5-6 years regarding the weather at that time of year.
