Wanna go with a great guide?
Just got back last week from a great sturgeon trip on the lower Columbia with a real pro: George Rose from George's Guide Service. We got limits both days and I lost count on how many landed. George makes it fun and he's an excellent teacher too. He fishes salmon too out of Chinook when that opens.
He's the man!

From what I hear the BEST guides are listed at the front of IFISH!

Re: Wanna go with a great guide?
I think so too, Marty!
Please, refrain from advertising guides on the board.
There are guides here on ifish that pay for that service, so please, no phone numbers, etc.
It's fine to say you had a great day with so and so, but no blatant advertising, k?
Thanks!
Jen

Re: Wanna go with a great guide?
I think Jennie was being light and friendly.
That was a great post and nice to get some good fishing reports. But, that point needed to be made and it was done in a friendly way that should not offend anyone.
I know that was not her intent.

Re: Wanna go with a great guide?
Lets hear about the guided trips you've been on. Topic posted 6]22,by willierower #154. It's ok for an long time member to make a post on this subject, but how can a new member have anything to contribute unless their guide advertised on ifish. Something is wrong. Somebody explain.

Re: Wanna go with a great guide?
I think Bob makes a good point. I went back and reread that thread and it is full of links and numbers that don't belong to Ifish sponsors. TH seems to be the worst offender, unless sponsors can endorse a spread of nonsponsors?
In Willierower defense, he didn't post numbers or links when he started the post. So to say that longtime members get extra special treatment would be an unfair assumption.
Oops, I thought that maybe Jennie hadn't seen this post. I see she posted on 6/27 on that thread.
Clarification may be needed on this one so that we don't get confused in the future.

Re: Wanna go with a great guide?
Who really started it. A simple email to the offender would been fine by me. The post would have just faded away. It's not nice to scold others in public, take the person aside(email)and explain the facts(rules).

Re: Wanna go with a great guide?
Phone numbers are not OK. I left the message up. I wrote him personally saying that "You had a great day with _guides name_ is fine, but no blatant advertising, phone numbers, etc. I educated him, and he is fine with it.
Get a life, and let me get on with mine too!
Jen
