I've heard a lot of good things about them. Never looked through them. If you want a good binocular for under $300. Most will say the nikon monarch atb is as good as it gets. Really good warranty too.

Never heard of them.

Do a search on Archery talk or 24 hour campfire.Usually a lot of good info there.

I bought a pair of Carson xm because of what I saw in my searches.
Most people thought the were better than the monarchs.Plus onconditional lifetime warranty.

I beat the heck out of mine.Screwed up the twist up eyecup.Sent them in with $12.50 and had a brand new set on my doorstep within a week.

I paid about $170 on a introductory offer.Seems like they are running about $265 now.

Field and Stream (which Vortex hasn't advertised in) had this to say about the Vortex Viper!

Best Of The Best Winners
Vortex Viper 10x42mm (Top)
$610
800-426-0048
vortexoptics.com Based in Wisconsin, Vortex has been marketing its own line of optics since the late 1990s, and the Viper 10x42mm is one of the company's very best. It has features similar to those of the Brunton (below), including a piano hinge and locking diopter adjustment ring. It even has screw-out eyecups that, happily unlike the Brunton's, only screw out, not off. The high magnification does restrict exit pupil, but the BaK-4 glass prism keeps those pupils full and round, and you get a higher twilight factor for making out details. There's sufficient eye relief for even eyeglass wearers, and the resolution is exceptionally good, with virtually undetectable spherical aberration. All in all, this is the right size and weight package at the right price.

Weight: 26.5 oz.
OAL: 6"
Width (with hinges closed): 41⁄2"
Exit Pupil: 4.2mm
Eye Relief: 16.5mm
Fov: 320' @ 1,000 yd.
Twilight Factor: 20.5
Waterproof-Fogproof: Yes
Resolution: Exceptionally Good

some more info for you

I own a pair of the Razors 10x42'S. In my opinion they are every bit as good as the Swarovski's. I got mine off of e-bay brand new in box. Also their warranty is hands down the best no questions asked and is transferable.

Thumbs up Re: Vortex Binos?

I ended up buying the 10x42's in the Vortex Viper model. So far I am VERY happy with them.

xXx Archery a little norht of Rainer, OR was very helpful and not pushy on the sale. The first time I stopped in, the owner of xXx recommended that I come back at twilight to check them out. I thought that was super cool since I was ready to buy them on the spot but thought I'd take his advice and look thru the glass at sunset. Two weeks later I stopped by after hours and he let me take them outside and compare with other binos. Super cool shop and the guys there make buying from them easy!

Thanks again to xXx Archery! (and I'm not even an archery hunter)
