Sure'nuf. I used to live 20 minutes on a logging road away. Loon Lake is a gorgeous lake filled with Largemouth, Perch, other warmwater species, as well as trout. It is also very popular with the skiing and personal watercraft folks, which can make for tough fishing this time of year. Are you fixin' to camp? Better check first, as the place is always packed. I think it is first come first serve though, so if you get there early and look for folks packin', you might be in. Good luck--oh yeah, whatever you do, avoid Ash Valley. It's just a few miles south on Loon Lake Road. It's populated by some different kinds of folks, most of whom are related, if you know what I mean. It's "Deliverance", Oregon style. Should you choose to stray that way, just remember....the hills have eyes.

I've fished it several times, the latest being late this spring. Like someone said it has big bass plus lots of other species. I've caught bluegill, huge pike minnow, & rainbow trout. The unfortunate part is that the ODFW must stock some VERY wormy rainbow's. It seems about every other one has little yellow worms hanging off the outside of the body all over the place. It's actually kinda gross. Otherwise great lake. Occasionally you'll catch some sort of "kokanee" looking fish but the old guys at the resort swear they are native cutthroat. It's a deep lake and supposably it has some green sturgeon also.
