Default Kings! where are they?

It's almost the middle of August 2007 and the kings (chinooks) look skinny for the season so far....ODFW's port to port numbers look really sad fellas...where's our kings???????? The weather has been influenced by Al Gore w/Global Warming right? The numbers are very, I said, very concernable up to this point....

Any answers from our "salty friends"...

Good catching fellow "salty dawgs"!

Yeah, if it wasn't for all these tuna around, we would be shut off on silvers, tagged out of halibut, out of rockfish quota, and grieving about the lack of chinook. Thank god the albacore fishing is so dang good.

Threemuch is right on the money! The tuna have taken the fishing pressure off everything else, even the charters are doing more tuna fishing and less of other types of fishing. It's clear form the SD board that many ifishers are going for tuna, many of them newbies to tuna fishing. That helps keep our options open for fall fishing after the tuna leave our waters because there will still be some groundfish and chinook quota left! From my perspective, that's great 'cause I like being out there and don't want to just go for a boat ride in my "fishing" boat.

Those two little silver things with the pink meat you had on the boat Saturday.

We caught 1 chinook about 28" Friday and released it. 1 about 10 lbs Saturday which we kept. Fishing out of the CR. Been pretty slow so far.
