Default Guides and wild Driving off the CR

Yesterday I was silly enough to go fishing again after two days of tuna and festivities. Got the call at 5 am from my buddy Mike to fish.

On the way back in a local guide from Hammond kept pushing in on us from the inside and we were pretty even on the throttles. I told mike to watch out for him as he looked like he was going to ram us. NOw there was a seasport just behind us doing the same speed too and just off our starboard.

Long story short, this guide decided to cut between us and got so close to our boat he ran across our white water from the prop. Way to close for comfort especially with a boat load of passengers.

Moral of the story, I don't care if you are a guide or just a sport fisherman. Use your head out there folks. Don't pull that kind of garbage at the tips of the jetty. Ya don't need to be in that big of hurry to endanger lives of others. Thanks.

Report 'em to the State Marine Board. I'd expect someone to report me if I pulled a stupid move like you described.

I spent the weekend down south and one day went out Winchester. ( nice bay ) At the ramp i wasnt parked in just the right spot and at this time a guide came in and was just a <petunia> about the hole thing.

My thinking about the deal was he had name and phone # on the side of his boat and thats not a good way to advertise your bis. I think that we need start putting these sorts of things with there name on the board hear so the poeple who are paying for this servise can at least see who the jack <salmon> guides are.

Who are some of these jokers?

When people pull bonehead moves like that while I'm out with friends and they start to get annoyed, I remind them to remember this......

Don't you remember, that guy owns this section of water!

Behaviour like that is espescially bogus from a professional with others safety in his hands.

Be kind.....report him.

No matter how many times you have run in the ocean, crossed the bar or fished the river it only takes one DUMB move to end it all! I think it always pays to have a healthy respect for the body of water you are fishing - stay safe, dont make dumb moves and enjoy yourselves. Glad you kept a cool head Bernie but then again you are a Cool Cat!
