Default garibaldi bar 8-4

went to check out the bar this morning 8-4 Saturday and watched several boats cross the bar that would be iffy even on a flat bar. i dont know that any fish is worth that risk. anyway, the coast guard ran out did a bar check in the big boat and decided to close the bar to 36 ft and under....glad i didnt go today! there were several boats bunched up by the bar looking like they were trying to decide to run out or not but most if not all made the right choice and returned to safe harbor. the ocean didnt look too bad....it was just the bar. here are some pics of the event. they look a little fuzzy becuase there was a wierd haze in the air.

It looks good on the outside but the jaws can be tricky all right. We went out yesterday and the low was at 10:15 we crossed at 8:30 and it was pretty good and then we came back in at 3pm.

It does change fast on the bar. I was suprised to see a boat head into the nahalem about 10:am friday with breakers all the way across the bar, No Thanks.

Thanks for taking these pictures.

went to the marina this afternoon and looks like they let the folks come back across some time around 2 or so since the take out was stuffed. there were people dragging fish around so they were rewarded for the efforts but i prefer to wait till mid week next week when things settle a little bit.

Hay nice shot as the CG chased me back in Saturday morning trying to go for Salmon. Friday we got 34 good sized tuna, its time for Salmon now. Went out later Saturday and got one takedown for 3 poles in a 2 hour fish. Water has cooled down again.

We crossed it at about 6:30. Flat as my chest.

Heard it was a tad bumpy about Saturday 9am. We made it back in(Fine ocean. Not tuna fishable in my boat, but plenty flat for cohos) at about 2pm.

Sunday, it was flat all day long on the bar but steeper outside. Maybe 4-6' swells. Sorta confused. Kinda bumpy. But not enough to deter a late am trip out for more dinks.

Cool pics!
