Default Columbia Steelhead?

Like to go out tomorrow and find some Steelies on the Columbia. Any hints? Thinking about putting in at Chinook Landing and fishing the mouth of the Sandy or in that area? Any helpful direction would be appreciated.

Rags....the mouth of the Sandy is producing fish. Saw four caught there Saturday...didn't make it out Sunday. I usually fish the first drop- off from the Oregon side in about 18 feet or so. Stay on top of your rigs because the moss and weeds will clog them up after awhile. Check them as often as needed. 32-36" dropper...about the same for the leader. Got 124's??? Good Luck!!

The 124 spinners are good in a lot of areas for anchorup fishing. I prefer to backtroll Warts and other plugs up in the Gorge along Ives Island - starting from the green can and fishing down thru water from 8 to 14 feet deep with good current; which will be below normal this summer. If bait is legal (I should know this, aye? But I like to just get tickets to find out what's legal or not these days - jk), Hot N Tot divers with sandshrimp will do just fine! This is sometimes a popular anchorup area though, so you'll either have to ask all the boats to move, as I do, or just fish around and below them without getting too close to their rigs (they'll let you know if you are). There are other similar good places to backtroll; but I will let you find them.
