fri/sat forecast?

with the high sitting off the coast then moving in later in the week and the weekend calling for possible showers inland do you think that maybe we will get a break or will that/could that set up for winds.
Forecast for the coastal waters says 5ft swell with 4ft wind waves for fri. but last weekend it seemed like things calmed down from the forecast. It sure would be nice to go get some halibut

I have pretty high hopes for this weekend - at least for Saturday. I like the trends so far, and although it's still a little iffy, I'm planning on being ready.

coastal waters; I agree, right now it looks like the high will start to shift Th\Fri., Sat - Tues looks like a decent chance to lay things down. A summer low trough is set to build in and the tidal exchanges are not very drastic; maybe another shot at winds < 10 - 20 kts in the afternoon; seas should drop to 3 -5 or even 2 -4 by Monday. BUT, long term @ 60NM looks like fairly big seas through Sun, I'm thinking where all you big guys play will be "sporty" at best...how's that for a lot of uneducated guessing....motivated by vacation Sat - Sun 8\12....
