Default 26 days and a chance of showers this weekend

Wow we might get lucky in Western Oregon this year I know its early yet but do you think we might be pushing our luck if we start our snow watch alert or does any know a snow dance.

Ok I hope I did not jinx us

Level 1 in the national forest and state protected lands in Clackamas Co. Looking good over here, but the Malheur National Forest is on a Level 4...EXTREME!!!

I don't know a snow dance, but my kids wear their PJ's inside out to make it snow.

I just plan on going to the east side, so I don't get disapointed with LV Fibre and Weyerhaueser closing their properties. The Mt. Hood National Forest will be open, but I haven't been able to scout it out, so off to Desolation for me. I wish you west siders luck on lands being open on the opener, but I would call before you plan on a long drive only to find your hunting area shut down due to extreme fire danger.

Blacktail I am openly optimistic this year the weather calls for a chance of showers this weekend and these cooler temps help. Last weekend when I was up scouting it was soaking wet in the coast range. Lets hope for the best and some more moisture.

I am hoping for the best, believe me. I have a large elk herd scouted in the Wilson. I got their movement down and really want to hunt them this year, but past practice has been to close their land opening day.

Your right to have plan B but I am hoping that you get to hunt it is almost unfair when you put the time in to scout and they close it out. That is the coast for you though..
