Default Carp Hunting/Fishing in Eugene

I am not sure if this is even the right board (fishing board perhaps?), but I just bought my first bow and am wondering if there is anywhere to bowfish around eugene. I have done it a little bit in Washington, but am fairly new to eugene. Also, thanks to all who gave me advice a while ago on buying my first bow. I ended up going to the bow rack in Springfield. Thanks.

A little ways from Eugene, Kiger Island Slough, south of Corvallis. Head North of the bridge there and you'll find carp.

If you have the time, eastern oregon pays off well. If you get a small boat and drive around the shallows up by any of the dams "Oxbow" being personal favorite feel free to get as many as you want. Had days of more then 200 up there and the river really needs to lose some carp. These reservoirs are starting to get stacked with them and completely over-populated. Be sure not to get catfish since i see them all the time feeding on the carp eggs. The trip is worth it with the amount of fish but understanding it takes several hours of driving. Sorry, don't know the Eugene area.

Hello WSU - I have bowfished successfully for carp in the ponds at Kirk Park and the Long Tom outflow right below the dam (North side of Fern Ridge Res) and also in the Long Tom River where it flow in on the South side of Fern Ridge (Along w. 11th). I have also shot some in Coyote Cr. and in the Amazon Canal off Bodenhamer road. I have shot a few in the Delta Ponds by Valley River and also in the Golden Garden Ponds off of Barger. Pretty much any pond or slough around Eugene has some carp in it, but I would concentrate your efforts in the areas I mentioned around Fern Ridge. Good Luck!
