Default Fri & Sat. on high seas in Florence

Don't get alot of stories from Florence area, so decided to give it a go. Fri. several boats went for Sal. on a great ocean. Found cohos at 200 ft. after dropping 4 crab pots. Didn't take 2 long before we were catching cohos, wild and clipped. The clipped ones were quite abit larger than natives. We weighed a couple at 9 #s. Anyway got our limits(no nooks at all), picked our pots up, and got 34 large to xtra large crabs. Pretty exciting, as we haven"t been finding many crabs in our area.
Sat. Jeanie and I got late start on a fantastic ocean. Headed due west for tuna. At forty miles found blue water, met up with our running mate, and started trolling. Hit a double right away. The weather had changed that far out. The wind came up and chop was close together, so it was not comfortable going south, but going south seemed to be direction fish was hitting. Jeanie and I had a ball couping with doubles, triples, and one four bagger. Ended up with 13 nice tuna and a bloody boat. Have always run with 3 people on board, so one could stay at the wheel, but this worked out fine, and maybe learned something. Didn't mean to make such a long story, but am still excited about our 2 days of fishing. Guess that is what it is all about.

That IS what it's all about! When you've just got two people and you're playing with doubles and triples AND a boat to run it can get pretty busy. I got to do a little of that the other day with a newbie, and talk about a one-armed paper hanger. Whew! But it's a heck of a lot of fun too.

I'll bet there were grins all over that boat - and I'll bet you learned a bunch too.

Nice going Thanks for the report. One of these Day's/Years, I'm gonna use that Port, since It's closer to my house than any other Port.
