Default Attractor Fly for Jig Fishing?

Just an idea for you to try while jig fishing. Blood knot on an 18" extention to the end of your line, leaving about a 6" line tag at the blood knot. After tying on the lower jig, tie on a good attractor steelhead fly to the 6" tag up above. This is often effective for steelhead flyfishing, so why not for jig fishing?

They have been doing this on the great lakes for years .I hear that it is pretty effective, I see no reason why it wouldn't work here.~~~~~ john

Thanks John. Of course, using the right jigs helps this combo a lot.

I believe "First Cast Jigs" would probably be my first choice. ~~John
