Default First Steelhead

My eight year old caught his first steelhead Wednesday afternoon all by himself. Grandpa had a fish chase his bait. Then my boy grabbed his pole, cast, drifted, and hooked one. Grandpa tried to help him then the fish jumped and spit the hook. He asked grandpa to rebait him with some more eggs. Next cast he hooked one again and fought it while our other fishing buddy landed it. I grabbed my disposable camera out and got pictures. I need to update my web page and post the link.

Also got a fishing buddy into his first summer steelhead on Saturday about an hour before he left. Decided to show him some of the other holes and he hooked him where I caught my first summer steelhead. Also have pictures of him and his fish.

Nice brag page there steelheadman. Where were those pics taken? I have a need to get back into some water like that. I fish the coast with a lot of success in the winter, but am new to summer fishing and now live in the valley in Salem. Got any hints for a new flatlander???
