Default Dam Counts......Still!!!!!!!

Wow, the Bonneville chinook count is STILL above 1000/day!! 90,000 sockeye, steelhead are slowing building, over 2 million shad, Willamette falls has 50,000 chinook and 23,000 summer steelhead......Oh, thank you cold, rich La Nina affected Pacific Ocean.

Now, if we could just still fish for all those 'nookies on the Columbia.....

There's still a lot of sockeye on the way too. I just got a call from a gillnetting buddy who got about 100 of them down by the mouth of the Columbia in the short gillnet season they opened. First time in many years there were enough to open up gillnetting for a few days. They're all really small though - average was about 3 lbs. a fish. According to him it's better eating than springer. I ordered 10 of them and he's just going to can them for me. Salmon sandwiches! Yum Yum.
