Default Nestucca River & Bay Info?

I'm headed to Neskowin for 3 days next week and need to assess my options. Drift the Nestucca? Crab the bay, clam? Or leave it all at home and golf with the family. Decisions, decisions. Never been there before and would certainly use some advice on how best to spend my time when I split away from the family gathering. I see a Daly Lake on the map as well, secret largemouth spot? Or maybe one of the little creeks? Thanks

Default Re: Nestucca River & Bay Info?

Moman:

Greetings - I will also be at Neskowin next week.

I will go crabbing a couple of times. I like the Nestucca, but sometimes it's worth driving to Netarts if the crabbing is better.

If you have kids Town Lake just north of Pacific City usually has good trout fishing.

I have young kids and don't fish the river much, it's easier to keep a eye on them in a boat, so I don't know the steelhead situation, but our neighbors usual do well this time of year.

You could drive to Tillamook and hit the ocean for salmon. The bite was good last weekend and the ocean was flat.

Shoot me an email if you want more info.

Regards,

Mark
