PETA freaks
I know most of us have read the schmegma they have on their website about fishing....here is Rick Reilly's take on the issue....funny as usual http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/ins...ife_of_reilly/

Re: PETA freaks
This guy puts it all in perspective.
"Professor James Rose, a University of Wyoming neuroscientist, studied fish for years and determined that they lack a neocortex (parts of which process the brain's response to pain), much like Cubs fans. Besides, if fish are so smart, why can you catch a fish, throw it back and then, two hours later, catch the same fish? I mean, do you really want to save something dumber than Robert Downey Jr.?" Re: PETA freaks
Last time I checked, mankind was at the top of the food pyramid. You know, Apex Predator.
When I eat a fish I'm just representing my species and it's rightful place in the larger scheme of things.
To PETA I say 'go boil your bottoms you silly english bedwetting pigdogs!, Now go away before I taunt you a second time!'
Monty Pythons' Holy Grail, Frenchman on the castle parapet insulting King Arthur.

" I faart in your general direction!"
These people may have good intentions, but evidently their IQ's are only marginally higher than those of the vegetables they are so eager to eat.

Re: PETA freaks
"Why do we throw a Frisbee to some animals and a barbed hook to others?" PETA asks on its website.
And, of course, the answer is: Because fish really suck at catching Frisbees.
I like that
PETA is a bunch of people that think they have to fight for something to justify there existecne. If they are so worried about hurting anmals maybe they should all just commit suicide. With all those vegitarians gone just think of all the animals that would be saved. I wonder if they ever thought about all the insects and rodents that die during the growing and harvesting of fruits, vegetables and grains. I bet the number far exceeds the number of fish that sport fishers catch and and kill and catch and release. Maybe we should protest the killing of helpless insects and rodents and target PETA and all vegitarins? That would be funny.

Re: PETA freaks
I say that the PETA people are using Air that would be better used supporting the animals that they say they are trying to save, maybe if they staged a civil disobedience like all meeting at the Burning man festival and incinerated themselves in protest,,,but they don't live up to their convictions...seen them munchin at McDonalds...Double Big Mac's

Re: PETA freaks
I liked the article, but interestingly, Reilly says that he hates hunting and that he'll like hunting when they come up with a catch and release method. I was reading in a magazine about 4 months ago that they have started an Elk preserve (I think it was in Montana) where hunters shoot trophy bulls with tranquilizer darts, and then cut the antlers off for their mount. The elk are allowed to live and grow a nice new rack back the next year!
Sounds crazy to me (can't eat the rack) but someone should let Reilly in on it.

If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat!

Re: PETA freaks
Hey Quick Fish, I have that bumper sticker in my office; mine reads "If we aren't supposed to eat animals" but same sentiment. On another note, there actually is a site called People Eating Tasty Animals, its good stuff. My standard reply to veggies is "Hey, at least my food has a chance to run away!".
