Default Kilchis River Bridge Problems

My buddy and I were canoeing down the Kilchis the other day and noticed that a large pipe underneath the 2nd bridge off 101 has 2 large leaks into the river underneath!
I hope its just water. But even then, someones got to be paying for the loss.
It wouldnt be a sewer pipe would it? Also noticed that the NICE folks who run the gravel pit have moved operations down river and OUT OF SITE (very clever move!) Any thoughts? I just hate to see any possible trashing of such a pretty stream!

Geeyushyuko...but hey, I wouldn't worry about a little sewage running into that river. Have you looked at the runoff from the surrounding river banks and meadows?

Honestly, have you seen some of the Tilla-Bay studies showing how the high uric acid content from the watershed is hurting the shellfish population?

It's been leaking for quite a while now. I have joked with my boat mates about sticking them under the stream if they don't reveal their best fishing spots.
I am also concerned about the gravel mining on the river. I don't think they are trying to hide anything they are just hitting the best gravel bar. I would speak with Bill Hedlund about this particular activity and get his take on the mining as he (and Jennie) live on the river. Evidently the powers that allow this mining see it as a means to reduce the flooding of the river by removing the impediments to flow within the stream.
I think it has just contributed to the channelling of the stream and turning it into a ditch instead of a river that has difficulty supporting runs of salmon. The chum run in particular probably suffers the most from this removal of gravel in the lower river as they spawn very low in the stream.
