Default Fantasy Football Advise

OK..... It's that time of year and I lucked out this year in my $$$$$ league and received the #2 draft pick this year.

As we all know, LT was "All World" last year and is obviously the 1st pick on everyone's "Mock Draft" board this year.

My question is, who would you take at #2..... I anxiously wait for the results as I am torn between several individuals....

Manning.

But of the three you have on the poll, Jackson.

you're right to want a RB with your pick. there just aren't enough good ones out there.

LJ would seem like an obvious choice, but will he be able to produce this year after his punishing season last year? that's a big question mark.

in addition to the ones you listed:

Joseph Addai IND is worth consideration and so is Jones-Drew JAX. both were rookies last year that put up decent numbers splitting time with other backs, but will be featured backs this year. i wouldn't waste a #2 pick on either of them, but if they are there when you pick in the 2nd or 3rd round i would snatch one of them up.

the smart move is probably to take LJ. you know their offense is built around him getting an absurd number of carries and most likely he will be able to handle the load for another season or two.

I'd go Alexander you'll see him on TV here. Johnson has contract issues, plus Priest Holmes is back in the mix. Jackson is good but not great.
No QB's in 1st round ever. Pretty clear choice in my opinion.

Why aren't the people giving advise in my money league?!?! I believe that the smart pick at #2 would be either RB Larry Johnson or RB Steven Jackson.

Maurice Jones-Drew is a 2nd round pick at best, and Addai is a late 1st round pick. You could select Manning, but you are going to be very thin at RB and you won't have much help with your 2nd pick.

Thats just my 2 cents.

Steven Jackson. Without any doubt.

LJ won't report to camp on time due to contract issues. Alexander needs to reprove himself after the injury. And Addai is still a youngster.

LJ is holding out, Priest Holmes is reporting to camp, giving the Chef's management some leverage. I wouldn't take him.

Ed is right, not that many good RBs around, but there are plenty of decent ones. I would go with Manning.

RB should always be your first pick, and Jackson is gonna have increased numbers this year with a run oriented new coach, i wouldnt be suprised to see him go ahead of LT in some leagues.

i had Manning last year as a QB. he was actually a dissapointment most games. on the flip side..i also had Addai. and later in the year when they started using him more he was a stud.

i got Carson Palmer this year...i think the days of Manning throwing for 300 yards a game are going away and the dawn of a strong Colts running attack are coming.

KHH,

I'd suggest going with Michael Vick (ATL) or Tank Johnson (Formerly Chicago)

John Kitna - go central washington !!!!! the kids got spunk lots of time under center and a good short game not to mention new folks to throw too in a west coast offence. He won a collage national championship and a NFL europe championship and defied all odds to start for alot of seasons in the NFL . I think he has some more suprizes left in him.

A reach with the #2 probably but a couple other RB's that could put up some huge stats are Frank Gore and Willie Parker.

Even though they are not true Starting RBs, Reggie Bush and Jones-Drew should be close to the top. Both can catch passes and run the ball very well and can make the big play. Very versatile and Fantasy football dominators.

Jones-Drew was a free agent gem in my fantasy league last year. i drafted him this year at #5 and got Addai in the 3rd round.

Even though Alexander was hurt and Johnson is in contract disputes, I don't think either are a bad pick. I personally wouldn't take Manning at 2.

yep, he's free. i wonder if anyone will pick him up? i personally think there is more to his injuries than people are letting on. IMHO he's done and people (teams) are figuring that out..he just hasn't realized it himself yet.

The big questions would be what is your scoring system? If your in a PPR league S. Jackson would be a no brainer. Watch L Johnson's hold out news, but that doesn't look good. Give us your scoring system, starting requirements etc. and we can better help you.

Would everyone still take Jackson? I just ended up with a #2 pick in another league I'm in also. He seems like a sure bet.

If LT is taken first (which he will be) you would be dumb not to take Steven Jackson... Last year I was lucky enought to get both Stevie J and Manning on my FF team, Manning slipped to the second round... Jackson will put up huge numbers, especially if you get more points for running back making receptions.
