With the engine not running, remove the air cleaner and throttle it up while you are looking down the throat of the carb. you should see a stream of gas shoot into the throat. If there is no gas,

you still have a problem with your accelerator pump and it needs to be replaced, or the linkage adjusted to time the flow with the throttle plates. I have also seen many times that a new kit has the wrong size piston for the pump. If you do have gas shoot into the carb when you throttle up, I would then suspect that you may be running too rich at idle and may be flooding when tring to throttle up, It is hard to trouble shoot without seeing and hearing it run, but I would start with what I have mentioned.
