Default Who's tuna fishing Saturday out of Garibaldi???

OK - here is one thing I never heard about tuna fishing before going - the clothes you wore will smell like tuna forever!

I'm getting a huge package of tuna killing gear delivered to the house on Friday and I will by trying it out on Saturday... who else is headed out??? This tuna fishing sickness is pretty fun!:grin:

Shane, there's like 5 guys here that have "tuna clothes are forever" in their tag line below their posts. That's what it means.

I'm still debating about Saturday. My subconscience tells me I need a Glacier Bay to fish 1 and 5, even though I've done it several times in my trusty tub. Maybe I just got spoiled from all the great fishing in June in 1 and 3 conditions.

The "Time Out" will be running out about 5:30. We will be monitoring channel 14 and 16.

Aqua Velvet will likely be running - depending on forecast, weather, etc. It's looking good, though.

I'm considering a run as well on Saturday, at low slack if the ocean continues to look good....

Tuna Time and I are in...we should have a better idea how far out the fish are tomorrow...but not if the wind does not let up!

Better tonight but still has a ways to go...

The clothes will not smell any worse than duck poo.

I've found wearing that tuna shirt in the racquetball court provides a definte advantage.

Good luck Garibaldiers!

Seas willing, I'll be crewing South and trying to scratch a few stragglers that haven't made the mass move North with the herd.

This is my first post on Ifish -- have read it for years.

I'm planning heading out with my 25' Wellcraft Coastal "Pops." Never have gone out of Garibaldi; my prior trips have been out of Astoria for salmon. Anyway -- I am a complete greenhorn on Oregon tuna, but think (hope) I have the right equipment from tuna fishing on the East Cape.

Does the tuna "crew" normally fish together, use a particular VHF channel, etc? I know this sounds silly to you veterans, but any input would be appreciated.

Garibaldi is CH 14 on the VHF for the dogs.
Fishing together is relative, crowd somebody and put their fish down and expect to hear about it, Its a big ocean, lots of room for everybody.
