Default Additional Fin-Clipped Tags!!!!

For all of you coho fishing fools out there, I thought that I would share some information with you. ODFW is offering an additional salmon tag for fin clipped fish. It costs $12 and is good for 10 additional fish. It is not available at *** terminals yet, but is available at the headquarters in PDX and other ODFW offices. It DOES NOT allow you to catch 4 fish in a day, the tag gives you an additional 10 spots to put fin-clipped fish on. It is only good for fin-clipped fish. So if you are like me an do not like to fill up your normal 20 fish tag with these small coho's, this is the ticket for you. I already have four fish on the new tag.

Blast-n-Cast…

Although it seems you, ODFW, and the Oregon State Legislature think this additional 1o hatchery fish tag was a great idea, I would like to point out something you all seem to be missing.

You can pay $12 for an additional 10 hatchery fish…

Or when you fill your first tag with 20 fish you can simply toss it and go down to any *** outlet and pay $6.50 for a duplicate tag that is good for 20 more fish, hatchery or not.

That is why most *** agents will not be offering the new “less than perfect” tag.

Only in America.

I did not overlook this notion, I just feel that the solution you pose is unethical and I do not mind spending the extra money. If everyone followed your advice, the state would discontinue giving duplicate licences. But I guess each to his own.

I didn't know a duplicate was legal. Does this allow you to catch twice as many steelhead and sturgeon too?

You can buy as many of the hatchery tags as you like also. The are a great opurtunity this year. You can get them at G.I. Joes and possibly fishermans. I have two already and if this fall is anything like it is supposed to be I will be buying more.

As far as going and losing your tag then going and getting a new one that is unetheical and probably illegal. As far as I know you are supposed to mark out any tag spots that you had used on your old tag.
