I too was up there on Saturday with a boat load, we were strictly fishing for oversize.

There wasn't a whole lot of action, probably saw around 10-12 boats hook up out of the 100 or more on the water.

We got the big zippo!

We anchored way above the Oak tree on Saturday. Status of the catch was:
o No Steelhead
o Chad
o A lot of smolts taking the Dick Nites
o 1 Squaw fish
o LAST BUT NOT LEAST hooked a nice Chinook that we released.

Great part was that this was the first river Chinook for the the guy who hooked and landed it! He really enjoyed it!

So, a mixed day for us but a great day! too

The "secret lure" was copper blade spinner with ruby red beads. This has been my evening go-to combo for a couple of years now. Native was 8-10 pounds, the hatchery fish was about 7. All-in-all, a nice day on the river. Wasn't gonna go at all, but pressure from the 11-year-old boy finally made me get off my lazy butt and drive up there. Glad I did!
