Going To Pack In On Horse Back,could Use A Pack Stove If Any One Has One To Loan Out Oct 6 To The 25th.would Like Any Info On The Unit As To Whare To Find The Elk.thanks

There are elk every where.

Tough country. As far as the stove you might find an outfitter in Riggins or McCall. Bet you could work something out. I'd hunt ridges to start with and pray for snow.

I plan on going in about 5 miles on hoseback,seven devels trail head to dry ridge area any other areas that might be better.IS there realy that many elk in the area,and do you think a 300 class bull is possable.

The elk end up where they dont get disturbed...

No rules apply ,,, You can kill a 300 class bull anywhere in this state .
I seen 300 bulls taken in every unit Ive ever hunted in this state.
Find cover and feeding areas wher they cant be seen from a distance.
They know those places and use them ....

I lived and worked in that area for many years ,,,,,
