Default Maiden Tuna Voyage

After a year of studying, preparing, acquiring gear I was ready for my first Tuna trip. I had a experienced crew with James (fishingislife) and Matt. Friday we followed Fishnxtc and Tacklebuster to the 61 spot. James got all the gear out, we ran 1 rod out the back, 2 off the side, 1 off the tower and 2 hand lines. It didn't take too long and we had a double, it was just like that until we had the bags and coolers full. 1st trip 23 Tuna. Saturday we traded Matt for Hogmaster (not sure we traded up or down ) We hit the 61 spot got 5 and it slowed down. We ran 10 miles NW and hit blue water and it was ON! We finished with 27. I met a bunch of salty dogs, and learned a ton.

Heading out

the seahawk is easy to set up with Bud's kill bags

The catch GO JAMES!!

Matt is a catching machine!

Capt. even got to reel a few in

Seahawk fish boxes help to keep the blood contained

All in a days work

Thanks to everyone who made this possible

Good work, gujys. Sounds like you had a great first couple of tuna trips, Dustin. The first of many, I am sure.

Nice work Dustin. I would have loved to fish with you Saturday. We'll do it again soon. Breaking in that pretty NorthRiver Seahawk with all that blood was a treat! Great pics. I especially like pictures of fish, blood and sunrises....what a beautiful ocean.

Not bad for a fellow potato picker from Idaho! Not bad at all.

By the way, what were your fuel consumption numbers for those trips? I'm sure that 200 on the Pole Dancer gets pretty decent mileage.
