Default any idea what it might have been???

On Tuesday we where out on the willamtet just down river from the M.C and we anchored over a bunch of what looked like old pileings that had fish all over the bases and up off of the bottom. I guess they are only shaker sturgeon? one guy thought they might have been walleye or bass?

any ideas of what they where?

to me yes  I can almost justify eating a fish that is just passing through the raw sewage and be ok with it( salmon) but I do not eat any sturgeon from the willy because they spend so much time in the river. I however thought that the walleye where more migratory and I tried to tell myself that they passed in from the columbia and maybe go out on ocassion to get the sewage out of them

Crappie. I've caught kajillions of them in the Willamette. Not sure I'd eat them anymore - they're resident and towards the top of the food chain. Try small rubber tailed jigs, and report back.
