Newport Salmon report

Well, my streak is broken, no salmon today. Covered a ton of water out of Newport this afternoon and never even had a drive by. Water temp was 50-53 degrees, some cut lines, no fish. The fish checker and gas dock attendent told us ahead of time that it was slow and it was. We fished at 100', 160', 200' and nearly every place in between and had nothing. Luckly, the bottom fishing was decent.

It sounds like there hasn't been too much luck on the salmon the last few days. What happened? It sounded like there was a decent bite last Saturday (7/7). But all of the reports that I have seen and heard since Sunday (7/8) haven't been too good. Any thoughts on the change of the success rate? I would imagine it has to do with the changing tides/winds/sst's that came with the weather change.

Anyone else make it out yesterday?

thats not good. I am hopefully heading down there tonight and will be fishing tommorow. Hopefully we will get a better report from someone today.
