DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
How about it, ya'll? I haven't been to a DA meeting in awhile due to my recent wedding, and i'm itching to get together with the duck brothers again to tell some tales of seasons past  I know it's hard to get together during the summertime due to family commitments and what not, but whatcha say we give 'er a go??
Date: Thursday, July 26th
Time: ~6:30PM - whenever we stop
Location: TBD

Name a place that's easy for you to go to Aaron.

Re: DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
How about setting a meeting up closer to Salem? I might be able to twist a few arms and get a Waterfowl Festival volunteer or two out of it.
I need to meet more people with the same obsessive compulsive disorder....

Re: DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
Alright...since i'm at a loss for places, how about The Decoy there in Linton. Seems to be a convinient location for most.
The Decoy, July 26th at 6:30 PM...
In true DA style, now that a place is chosen, let the arguing commence over why we're having there

Re: DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
Here is a link to a Google map I made that shows where The Decoy is for those that don't know. You can also get directions from your place to The Decoy from the map.
The dinner special... something "smoked" I'm sure
Hope to see all the ol' timers there and some new faces. If you've never been to a DA meeting... whatchya waiting for?

I'm thinking about trying to make it. Not 100% positive though. Linnton is a long drive from Salem after a full day of work.

Yes, you can certainly come. However, being that it's your first time, tradition dictates that you bring a box of shells for everyone in attendance and gps coordinates of one of your honey holes.
If you'd rather not deliver shot shells and a honey hole, a second option for first timers is picking up the bill for the evening.
Hope to see you there!

Re: DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
I think we can deviate from tradition a little seeing as how he is only 16. I saw GPS co-ordiate's and pick up the bill should be enough.

Re: DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
Oooooo I got a hall pass for tonight so I will see you fellas at the Decoy. I am going to bring a few jars of TUNA I caught to share with the gang.
Lets have folks bring their lanyards & calls. Perhaps folks have been thinking of getting a new call and want to try one out before they buy one? I will bring my new Daisy Cutter for those who are are thinking about one.

Mike...Kid duty is no longer an excuse--I was also on K-Duty, and I WAS THERE...lol... Of course, my kid got us kicked out of the bar and tried to run out the door a few times...but it was good times. A few guys even broke out the calls and started wailing in the restaurant...ok, not wailing, but still running them a bit...
HH--thanks for the tuna...that was DELICIOUS!!!!!! You can send my case of canned tuna to P.O. Box...
Considering we all looked pretty afflicted tonight, perhaps we should have an "informal" DA round-up at the OWF?

Re: DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
When I got up this morning I had every intention of being there this evening.
Then I got a call just after noon from some friends, "Grab your shotgun and lots of shells and get over here!"
At 5:15, 8 boxes of 20 ga. Target Loads and about 150 Starlings to my credit later, it was time to head home.
I've been out in the garage reloading shells all evening. There's more to come.
I figured the DAers would understand.

I had a good time fellas, as always. I thought Ed was going to physically assault Gil for that call. Gil... I'd be lining up another one of those calls to keep Ed from taking advantage of you. I'm sure he'd pay plenty to get his mitts on one.

Well, I did see Aaron (Joekster) exchanging numbers with another patron. I'm hoping his new wife doesn't find out.
(Just in case this could start something ugly, I'll add that the number exchange with a goose hunter, and it was hunting related)

Re: DA meeting Thursday 7/26/07??
Good to see all you guys again! And NO! My call is not for sale! LOL Also, my wife has been made aware that if I should go missing during the course of a hunting trip the authorities should be notified and told about the extreme coveting of my duck call by my hunting buddies. Your names are all written down as prime suspects!!! LOL Seriously, I'll be happy to help you guys out with getting one like it. Especially if a successful goose hunt is exchanged for one! After all that hard work taking the online goose ID test I really need something to show for it.
Oh, and no I did not have to sleep on the couch that night.
