Did you feel it?
At 8:53PM there was a 2.9 magnitude micro-quake, based near Canby. Here in Portland it felt like a muffled Thump - a single shock wave.
Read about it here.

Yep. We felt it here overlooking the river - felt like a jello shot looks. Short duration, but it was readily apparent.
I saw no tsunami form on the river.

I thought my kid had jumped off his bed again, but wasn't loud enough. Just a quick shake.

Re: Did you feel it?
Up to a 3.3 now. The epicenter was literally under one of my employee's house (2 miles WSW of Canby and 2 miles NE of Aurora). I bet she felt it no matter what they were drinking!
Funny thing, the kids at the other end of the house felt nothing. But we were over the basement. Maaybe that is why.
I don't think they were drinking.

Re: Did you feel it?
Darn I missed it, I was fishing Greens Bridge. I did notice a lot of emergency vehicles near the epicenter on my away home, so sounds like something was damaged in Barlow near the railroad tracks.

Thank God that's what it was.
At the time I was opening a bottle of wine and thought it had gone REAALLY bad!
[it drank OK}

Re: Did you feel it?
Downstream from Hogmaster about a mile and up from shore about a 1/4 mile, felt a single ripple. I was down in the basement also, no real difference than normal house movement except I could feel it in the slab.
I was in the Sylmar, Whittier and the Northridge Quakes. Wow I thought quakes would never get to Portland......finally California has truely arrived. (LOL) Enjoy......and yes I know the NW here in Portland is in a Subduction Zone etc........

With the way the buildings here in Las Vegas rumble all the time we didn't feel anything either.

Re: Did you feel it?
I guess that's what it was. The TV and radio were off as I was trying to get our 3-month old to go to sleep when I heard (not felt) what could best be described as if a child was wearing thick, down-filled mittens and knocked on the windows. I was convinced that a little kid was at the door so much so that I went out the front door to look for the prankster. It wasn't a house rattle like a large truck going down the street. It wasn't as... crisp.. focused.. it was more of a muffled noise.
This will make the second one I've ever experienced so I am guessing that that is what made the sound.
Oh... we are out near Forest Grove.

Re: Did you feel it?
I was outside talking with my neighbor and my phone started ringing. Everyone calling to see if we felt it, didn't feel a thing.

Re: Did you feel it?
Felt a real quick shake and the power went here in Lake Oswego. Then the power came right back on about ten seconds later.

Re: Did you feel it?
I live there and didn't feel a thing. My sister in law called to ask me if we felt it and that was the first I knew about quake. The commotion in Barlow near the tracks was nothing more than a small brush fire that we put out in about 20 min. It wasn't earthquake related.

Re: Did you feel it?
Coming from California, 3.3 earthquakes don't even make the news. Those under 5.0 get about 20 seconds on the news. Just enough to mention it happend, where and how big. It takes a 5'er to make news.
My kids felt it at home.

Yeah Maupin has them all the time. Where is that incident map showing all rumblings around here.
I still wish it was molten lava seeping out in Barlow. The fire was just blocks from epicenter, gotta love those sparkin trains.
