Default south santiam ?

Anyone fish the south this week? I will be going saturday and wondered what drift would be best for springers. Any info would be helpful.

Willierower has to be the one who can answer this question, I grew up in Laebanon as well - sounds like he pretty much lives on the S. Santiam.

Good Luck

I've been in touch with willierower and he tells me there is a huge moss problem now in the S. Santiam. He drifted it earlier in the week and could hardly fish for the moss. May be better in some of the bankie spots, don't know.

hunter,
When I fished it Monday I noticed a couple well known guides had put in at Pleasant Valley. That must mean there are getting some fish from there to Waterloo. Im sure the big hole under the bridge at Pleasant valley is full of fish by now. Jacks to Waterloo would be another good drift.
The river is way down now. I havent looked at the graph but my indicator rock was showing this morning. As for the moss problem, That is mainly an upper river problem. Some guys I talked to that fished tuesday said it wasnt too bad. Im guessing when th USACE was playing with the flows on monday it caused the moss to float up.

Fishnfloat you can take out at jacks, it is located just above the bridge on the way to Mcdowell creek. go across the bridge and take a right and I believe it is the first driveway on the right, pretty tight access but can be done with no problems. Lot of slow water in between so a kicker is a plus.
