Default 3M Boat Bow Protection

Has anyone put the 3M Clear Mylar on their boat to protect it from rock chips? My new boat is taking on too many rock chips in the front bow area when towed. It's either mud flaps on the pick up and that's not a sure fix or have the 3M applied. There is a auto window tinting business in Vancouver Wa that applies the 3M Mylar with a 5 Year warranty.
Anyone have 3M on their boats and what are the pros & cons of the material / application.

thanks

I don't know about the 3M but I put a skirt on my hitch. Not the grass looking skirt but the semi hard rubber one that goes all the way across. It's not real pretty but it put the end to rock dings, tar, and general road crap.

Cool Re: 3M Boat Bow Protection

I gave up after a few trips on the roads down here in Humboldt County... Its got more specks than a blue tick hound now ... I've heard the film will delaminate over time and take your paint with it .. Thats 2nd hand info from a fairly reliable source Barney

I have full paint and full film. I love the film, it cleans easy really protects and I would do it again. The only problems I have had is in the back where the gas spills on it, the film curls and turns brown on the edge.
