Skein's back!
And it's good to be home. I was in Kentucky for a week, then up to Alaska for a week of chasing kings, but in all truthfulness I was hankering for tuna the whole time. Luckily for me I didn't have access to Ifish so I didn't have to read all the tuna reports about quads and quints and soft oceans.
Of course now that I'm back the ocean has decided to go bozo and nobody is getting out. Don't blame it on me - I think Corrirod prayed for bad seas just so he could show off the capabilities of those Glacier Bays.
And if you don't think I've got it bad, our guide in Alaska, who is from Klamath Falls, is coming down in August to go tuna fishing with me. It's pretty tough when you're setting on an Alaskan river catching kings and still yabbering about tuna.
I can't wait!!!

You are baaaad! Very bad!!!!
The king fishing was okay, but the fish were getting a little dark and the bite was pretty iffy. The guide was a good one, and I will very much enjoy repaying his efforts - and bringing him closer to the dark side. Heh heh heh....

You missed it Skein. It is all over for the season. The tuna are gone and the wind is going to blow till September. You can hang up that 12 wt fly rod and go dig a can of worms, sorry.

Re: Skein's back!
Ready to get 'em on flies... just say the word. Had the flyrod on board the SS Greenbutt last week and, the way they were hitting the swimbaits it'da been a sure thing. But, as I was reaching for the rod, I took a look at the fish that hadn't yet made it to the cooler, the gaff hook by my feet and the blood everywhere... and opted to enjoy my first tuna trip for what it was and save the flyrod for another time.

Skein,
Welcome back . Which area of Alaska were you fishing? I'm heading to the Togiak River tomorrow for a week. I hope the run is as good as last year was.....amazing.

Re: Skein's back!
Welcome back Jim, if you need an experienced deckhand and a virgin I'd like to get my son out some weekend. He gets out of the Army and heads home from Alabama on Wednesday so this weekend is probably not an option but maybe sometime soon we can convert him.
