Default Miller Lake

Does anyone know if fishing has been good there or not? I am planning to go there in a couple weeks and am unsure of were to fish and what to use. Any info that could help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Adam

Adam,
Ive fished Miller Lake quite a bit. My cousin was there over Mermorial day weekend. They caught a of of smaller browns.
Im not sure whathey were using.

Ive done well in the past trolling small trout colored rapalas in the shallows when the wind kicks up. Also trolling black, brown or olive wolly buggers will take there fair share of trout. When trolling the flies just add a couple split shot about 3' up the line from the fly. Dont use flashers. You will need to getthe flies ou 60 to 80 feet behind the boat. Use light line, 4lb is best.
Crocodile spoons work good also. Thomas Bouyants in the copper color with red spots work well too.

Adam, i'm not sure about this time of the year, but in September I have done well on the flats (NW corner of the lake?). You can wade for quite a distance here. I was stripping in brown or black woolly buggers and green matukas on a floating line and catching some decent browns. I hear it is overpopulated with kokanee. I have also heard of 10lb plus browns taken out of there. We used to fish it in the evenings during muley season. The washboard road in will rattle your fillings out of your mouth if you have a stiff suspension... Joe

I used to fish this lake a lot when I was a kid. I haven't been there in over 10 years and would love to read a report when you get back. I've never cought a brown there but we used to knock the kokanee dead off the dock just using a single Pautzke's egg on a real small egg hook. Also used to pick them up trolling a green dragonfly nymph on a sinking fly-line down on the flats. Good Luck.

Another thing about Miller Lake is that it is open for fishing 24 h. I did think that any trout waters in Oregon were open for fishing after dark. I've heard that the kokanee fishing can be good at night with glow hooks.
