Default Search for Atlantis

My buddy 'Puffin' is on a quest. He wants to find 'the reef' to catch bottom fish and Halibut at. Last weekend he went out of Garibaldi armed with some charted GPS points.

After 30 + miles of running to the Northwest he found a reef at 500 ft. All around the reef the water was 1200 ft deep. They fished for 2 hours and couldn't buy a halibut. Several nice (3 foot long) Yelloweye came to the boat, however. He said this was what bottom fishing was like before it was depleted at all the near port reefs.

I've never seen Yelloweye that big but I hope to soon, he gave me the #'s. All the water north of Cape Falcon is open for Halibut at all depths for most of the summer.

As the search continues, I'll keep you posted.

Does anyone have the GPS #'s for Atlantis?

I don't know the GP's but I know that some boats are out a lot further. A friend went on a charter a couple of weeks ago and he got a 45 # one. Said he fished in 700 feet of water. It was bad enough to have to reel in 2 # of weight plus the fish. He said they had several fish. The boat was the Siggi-G. It might pay your friend to make a trip with them and get the coordinates when he goes out with them.

When are we going to go get them?

Don't tell Dan! about those Yelloweye or he'll fish em' out .

Did I hear someone say Yelloweye. I wish you guys could have seen the Yelloweyes and lings from my La Push trip. My ling was a 40 pounder and the yelloweyes were all ten plus. It was hard to keep the halibut off of our lines long enough to to get the lings and yelloweye but the big pipe jigs I think would remendy that. They also are not that far off shore less than 20 miles I think and an easy bar to go accross.
Mr. Fisherman I would only catch my 10 fish limit.
Might stick a feather out of my backside and catch a few dozen more.

Yes, I do know the limits on yelloweye. Just trying to be funny I should know better by now.
