RESERVAT, First off dont bring any fireworks from Washington as 99% of them are illegal in Oregon and you will get arrested for using them. Buy your fireworks in Oregon and you wont have a problem. Dont know about the shows in Depoe Bay but most of the cities have something like that going on, They have a good show at Kernville which is north of Depoe Bay by about 12 miles.

RSERVAT,

Yes, this is a good time for keepers in that area. The guide will get you into some fish pretty easily. Just had a friend come back from the estuary this past weekend with three keepers for half a day of fishing. You guys should do pretty well. I hope you and your son have a succesful trip!!!

RSERVAT, not saying you should do it but the beach at pacific city is covered with illegal fireworks on the 4th and for some reason the cops seem to turn their head as long as nobody goes overboard. And the end of June is great for Astoria sturgeon... Joe

There is a great show in Newport. The family has been going there for the past five years. Not one drop of rain in the past 5 either. Go to the South Beach area by the Marine Hatfield Center and you will find a a sandy area that is a place to let some fire works go and to lay back and watch the show.

The fishing is not too bad on the jetty. I alway go catch a few kelp greylings for dinner.

RSERVAT

Depoe bay has it's own fire works show.
I was there last year. Its at the park just north of Depoe Bay. Right on the overlook to the ocean. Ask the locals for for specifics.

Newport was way too big and too young a crowd for me. Depoe Bay has a Bus they charter and run people from town up the road the three or five miles to the Day use park. Lots of Cops and Fire dept. But a really good time. You can park up there at the day use area but get there early for a spot and don't plan on leaving early. You will be blocked in. I parked in Town and brought blankets to sit on for the kids and folding chairs for the adults as our hind ends get sore sit on the ground. Bring a small cooler for snacks and drinks. If you have an RV, lots of folks get there early and setup. Have Fun

I'm not sure of all the local central coast fireworks displays but do know that Waldport which is 14 miles South of Newport has theirs on July 3rd. This gives lots of folks the opportunity for back to back nights of fireworks. Enjoy, where ever you decide to go!
