Default Keys Fishing.

Hey everyone,
Im headed to the Florida Keys on Thursday and will be there for two weeks visiting my grandparents. I am taking a 9 weight fly rod and am hoping to get into some big fish. Just looking for any advise or flies of choice. Will have a boat there. Thanks in advance!!

See my thread Ascencion Bay Bonefish Flies ( http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=146129 ) THe fly selection is about spot on. I'd have sme streamers, some crazy charlies, some gotcha's adn a bunch of smallish crab patterns. Make sure you have some that are weighted, some heavily, some medium, and some light. Also have a few unweighted flies. The good news is, the Keys have a lot of great fly shops, so you can go buy a few flies and get soem real advice from the real on scene experts.

Good luck and post pictures!

Agree with Mojo on fly selection. 9 weight is good for bone fish. Chartreuse clouser minnows have worked well for me. There are some good bonefish flats at Bahia Honda state park near the bridge at the north end of the park. I caught some there a few years back. Water is warm this time of year. Morning and evening are best.
