Default Raw Fish

Went out with the group today headed 265 out to 28 miles from Depoe with a tuna-virgin on board. After landing the first one his eyes were as big as the glass float Pilar found.

Headed in picking up fish to the 21 mile mark.

Stopped at the whistle buoy and landed one and lost one coho.

Arrived at the fish cleaning station and had the priviledge of Carking next to Mr. Carkington. Who actually showed remorse and guilt for turning some of us to the dark side. Will always be in your debt for throwing tuna at me John.

John/puffin arrived with yellow fin tuna and a wasabi sauce which was devoured as fast as he put it out. Thank You for the snacks, as well as offering me a cigar as i was leaving.

Always a pleasure to talk to TWB/Jerry on the Mic, and 30+ fish for only 2 guys, my hats off to you. Look forward to next weekend.
At this point i am planning depoe for hali and salmon unless you change my mind.

Great weather, great fishing, great ocean, The best part and the cherry on top is the Salty Dog brotherhood.

Thanks to all it was my pleasure to be a part of the day.

Tight lines and Godspeed.

Thanks Shawn, and I look forward to our next trip too. I don't think Ben is going to let you go fishing for anything but.....halibut.

I'm still thinking about going to Newport on the 4th for a salmon or two. Sure would like to have a fresh one for the BBQ.

However, this has me a little concerned:

WED
N WIND 20 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 5 FT. W SWELL 7 FT.

THU
N WIND 20 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 6 FT.
W SWELL 8 FT.

I sure hope this is short lived. It seems like every summer around the 4th of July the valley heats up and the NW winds start. If it goes 30mph for a week, there go the tuna and salmon offshore. I sure do like things like they are, right now!

Well, I guess if we can't get a salmon, we will just have to suffer through BBQed Halibut and Tuna....!

Jerry

Typically when we get winds like that, the morning is pretty good to fish until the wind really starts to blow. On those day I like to leave the dock at 4:30 and head NW from Newport. That way when the wind does start to blow, you get to come home with it.

Agreed Jerry weather appears to be deteriorating towards the end of the week.

Not sure if its going to be a ok in the morning type scenario or a blow baby blow where the swell stays high.

Wait and see I guess.

Ran the fishing on Wednesday thing past the wife to test the waters and decided that posiedons 3 pronged fork would get me where it counted so I let that one go.

Best of luck to you and a post would be appreciated although Im sure you will get them.
