Default Newport OR ocean crabbing

I'd like to ry crabbing in the ocean out of Newport. Does anyone have any suggestions as to location...north or south from the bar, depth???

I usually go south of the jetty in forty to seventy feet of water tends to be a little calmer on the southside if the wind or swell picks up makes it a little easier to pick em up.

Doesn't really matter we usually make sure we don't go to shallow in case it starts breaking USUALLY JUST A PROBLEM IN A WINTER STORM PATTERN just go a ways down and dump them. Chicken works best for us the seals don't like it and it last's a long time you can usually pick some up at the supermarket cheap legs or thighs
